IM Mail Form – Conditional Logic
IM Mail Form Conditional Logic
IM Mail Form Conditional Logic is an add-on for IM Mail Form that allows you to show or hide form fields based on a visitor’s input.
It helps you create cleaner, more flexible forms by displaying additional fields only when they are needed.
What You Can Do
Conditional Logic lets you control the visibility of fields according to the value selected or entered in another field.
For example, you can create a form where:
- Additional questions appear when a specific inquiry type is selected.
- A text field appears only when “Other” is selected.
- Fields that are not relevant to the visitor’s answer are automatically hidden.
This allows you to keep forms simple while still collecting detailed information when necessary.
How It Works
Conditional Logic is configured directly from the IM Mail Form form builder.
Open the field you want to control and enable Conditional Logic.
You can then specify:
- Source Field — the field whose value is used as the condition.
- Operator — whether the value should match or not match the specified value.
- Value — the value used for the comparison.
- Action — whether the field should be shown or hidden when the condition matches.
Example
Suppose your form contains an Inquiry Type field with the following options:
- General Inquiry
- Sales
- Technical Support
You could create an additional field called Product Name and configure it to appear only when the visitor selects Technical Support.
The condition would be configured as follows:
- Source Field: Inquiry Type
- Operator: is
- Value: Technical Support
- Action: Show when condition matches
Visitors who choose another inquiry type will not see the Product Name field.
